DISPLAYING SUBTITLES UNDER VIDEO

You can specify maximum number of lines that displays under video. If subtitles have more that one line, the last line contains all lines that are over limit. This setting also affects marking the lines in grid, which contain more lines than specified here.
You can disable displaying of subtitles by unchecking Enable displaying subtitles under video (which can give you some additional performance, so if your CPU is weak (under 300MHz), this can give you a bit smoother playback of video).
By checking Ignore text formatting according to MicroDVD standard... you can disable formatting of displayed subtitles text and format tags get visible (instead of Text you'll see {y:i}Text).
By clicking on Select font you can specify default font properties for subtitles under video (note that if you format subtitles by tag {y:b} (bold) and font for subtitles is bold, you won't see the difference (the same for italics and underline). This is no bug, it's simple because of no "BoldBold" formatting :)
And last, you can specify background color for subtitles (try avoiding selecting the same color as for font).
